"Diván del Tamarit" is a collection of poems with which Federico García Lorca pays homage to the Andalusian poets of Granada, using two types of compositions, the casidas and the gazelles. Love, eroticism and death are the themes of this work which, if in its structural and rhythmic aspects seems to be based on an orientalist and melancholic classicism, in its poetic expressiveness connects with "Poeta en Nueva York" due to the strength and beauty of its metaphors. Lorca's vision, his sensitivity, his roots and his creativity crystallize in a work of ravishing beauty and strength, a mature, highly personal and unforgettable work. "Diván del Tamarit" is a jewel of Spanish poetry to be vindicated.
