Being a Christian is a wonderful part of life. It is, however, full of challenges that we are able to overcome as we trust in the Lord. As Christians we have been given the gift of salva- tion. We don't deserve it and there is nothing that we can do in our human power to earn it. We have been saved by grace through faith. Not by our works. It is a gift from God. When we become a Christian the Holy Spirit takes up residence in us and we are born into God's family. We share the same spirit. Being saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit we are required to submit to God moment by moment and day by day. Being a Christian is a lifetime journey. As we take that journey, spiritual growth is important. We grow by praying, reading the word, through CONSTANT praise and worship, having resilient faith, fasting, and conducting spiri- tual warfare. As we grow, the Holy Spirit will work to change our character to reflect the character of Christ. It is my prayer that this book will serve as a reminder to the "Sea- soned Christian" and as a guide to develop spiritually for the "New Christian." I hope that after reading this book it will encourage changes and even enhance your spiritual life. My sincere aspiration is that one of your greatest testimonies will be the difference others see in your spiritual life and Christian attitude.
