In the land of the elephants there lived a little elephant. He was the color of new grass, he liked to sing sweetly, and he was no bigger than a mouse. The big elephants would look down at him and laugh. "The wind must have blown you here from over the sea. You certainly don't belong in this land!" The little elephant would stare out to sea. "Maybe it's true. Maybe I do come from over the sea. Maybe that's where I belong." One day the little elephant dreamed a dream. And, with the help of a white sea bird, the wind, a flower, and a worm, he found out where he really did belong.
