Welcome to New Zealand. My name is Kauri and this is my sister Maia. Let us take you on a trip through our beautiful country. It's a very special place in the world and there are lots to share with you.
Kauri is a Maori name that comes from the kauri trees in New Zealand and Maia means Brave and Bold.
The Maori are a group of settlers from Polynesia which is another Island that is also in the Pacific Ocean. The Polynesian people moved to New Zealand on Canoes over 700 years ago.
