Edwin McGillicuddy, the new Lord of the massive airship the Queen's Gambit and his techkinetic wife, Eliza, run afoul of a group of vengeful Ice Pirates. The Jotnar are on a mission to punish the humans for their forced exile, but Edwin and Eliza and their crew of displaced Supernaturals choose to stand in their way.

The problem? The Jotnar's bloodthirsty warrior queen also happens to be Edwin's embittered ex-wife, complicating matters considerably. And then there is the little issue of the cryo-bomb the Jotnar want to use to blow the Gambit to bits.

There has never been a Court like Edwin's before, comprised of rebel Fae, wolf shifters, misfit Mechi-people, and exiled steamvamps—all of whom break all of the rules.
