كان يحكم فلسطين ملك ظالم من اليهود اسمه "هيرودس" يهدد أهل فلسطين, يجلدهم , ينهب أموالهم , يعذب الفلاحين, يغصب محصولات أرضهم من القمح و الزيتون و يستولى على مواشيهم من البقر و الغنم. و عندما علم ملك الروم طلب ان يكون له نصيب ايضا.
