Japan has been searching for an effective way to reduce gender inequality in the country. Many Initiatives have been undertaken by the japanese government, however the effectiveness of those efforts to bridge the gender gap between working fathers and working mothers remain question. To come to grips with this issue and ensure the findings of previous investigations on the subject are accurate and up to date, this book discusses the insights given by working fathers in relation to gender equality. The focus of investigation is on the challenges of working fathers in performing their work and non-work roles. Having to compare the perspectives on both sides, working mothers and working fathers may help with the development of comprehensive policy solutions to the issues faced by the 'Fathering Japan' initiative and the contextual elements in the country.
