The Alternation and The Confusion are two German plays that until now have not been published. Printed in English and German, the plays are a tribute to their late writer, Gerhard Waizmann.

The Alternation"

A play about a seemingly idealistic poet who wants to overthrow the dictator, Terra the Supreme Wise. As the play progresses it becomes apparent the poet is only presenting his humanitarian values - and his love for Terra's helper and paramour - to further his own ends. In alliance with the Council of Wise Men, the poet ultimately succeeds in becoming dictator himself.

"The Confusion"

The play has many episodes, in each of which a dialogue represents the core of the episode. The dialogues take place between different characters and is a collage of individually coherent, but overall unrelated, episodes. The play becomes a description of self-centered, non-conversing conversations, which is underlined by the subtitle making reference to the confusion of language during the building of the Tower of Babel.
