Many King James Version Bible-using Christians have not only never heard, their whole lives, that the New Testament was translated from the Greek language, but they also do not know that some of those translations are wrong. Some mistranslations do not matter much- others are crucial.
There are ten different Greek words translated "love."
Not one of these means what the English-speaking layman thinks "love" means.
That is described by a root word that is recognizable by its loanword, namely, EROS: Romantic Love.
This word is not used anywhere in the New Testament.
The other ten Greek Words are all confused with Eros, when laymen are not informed that there is a difference. This lends foundation to the propaganda that "The Bible makes no sense!" and, "Only a qualified clergyman can understand The Bible."
Any qualified Clergyman knows all about this mistranslation, and their only possible motive for not telling their congregation is to create confusion, when the laymen try to read and comprehend The Bible on their own.
This confusion clears up, as soon as you see what the mistranslated word should really have been rendered. It will be as if you have a brand new Bible, if you did not know about this before!
