"The Old Man and the Sea" is a short novel written by Ernest Hemingway in 1951 in Cuba and published in 1952. This work is among the author's most famous and narrates the story of Santiago, an aged Cuban fisherman, and his epic struggle with a massive marlin in the Gulf of Mexico. The novel explores themes of courage, perseverance, and man's relationship with nature. It is a masterpiece of literature known for its simple yet powerful narrative and is considered one of Hemingway's finest works, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1953.
