Desiree is a paralegal at a small Connecticut law firm. She has just broken it off with her long-time boyfriend and is trying to put her life back in order when she meets Tyler, a white attorney. Tyler's thoughtfulness and kindness win her over immediately, but she knows her friends and family would never accept her dating a white man. As her feelings for him grow, she quickly finds herself caught between family and intolerant society on the one hand and her love for Tyler on the other.
