This book looks at how Groups form, how they function, and how to motivate those within the Church Groups. An unknown author wrote that the church is busy raising mules. On the first reading hereof a person could be offended as no one would like to be compared to an animal. On reading further, one understands the author's comment. What he was trying to say was that there are a lot of people working very hard in the church. They are involved in all the activities of the church. They are the ones the Pastor always relies on to assist with specific tasks. But, the author claims that just like the mule, these people never reproduce. Once they leave the Church their work falls flat as they have not found someone to take over their task, or to fill the void that they have left. Motivation is the art of getting people to do things or to do things more efficiently or quickly.
Motivation is the set of processes that moves a person toward a goal. Thus, motivated behaviours are voluntary choices controlled by the individual employee. The supervisor (motivator) wants to influence the factors that motivate employees to higher levels of productivity.
