A dead body is found on the ferry, and the police are totally baffled and can make no further progress on the intractably difficult case. With immense reluctance, they call in the very unlikely assistance of a consulting detective, who single handedly cracks open the puzzle and goes on to solve the case. As always, there is some wry humour and a hint of romance floating in the air.
