The history of domestic cats is long and complex, as these animals have been closely associated with human culture and society for thousands of years. In this article, we will give an overview of the development of domestic cats. The ancestors of domestic cats were wild cats that were common in Asia, Africa and Europe. Archaeological evidence shows that wild cats were already living near human settlements around 10,000 years ago. These animals were considered useful as they helped to keep pests such as rodents and snakes at bay. It is believed that the domestication of domestic cats occurred naturally and without direct human intervention. The wildcats adapted to life near human settlements by eating human waste and food scraps.
