Henry Fielding (1707-1754) was an English novelist, poet, irony writer, and dramatist known for earthy humour and satire. His comic novel Tom Jones is still widely appreciated. He and Samuel Richardson are seen as founders of the traditional English novel.
The Fielding's poem Of True Greatness. An Epistle to the Right Honourable George Dodington, dedicated to George Bubb Dodington, was first published in January 1741. It appeared again two years later as the first item in Fielding's Miscellanies.
