Twenty-three-year-old Catherine (Kate) Pieterson has had a tumultuous few months. In the space of a few weeks, her parents moved from Sydney to London, leaving her to look after her younger brother, Alex. She and Alex had to move house, and then Kate and her boyfriend of four years, Jacques, broke up.
When Kate bumps into her university friend Melati (Mel) after not seeing each other for nearly two years, they catch up over dinner.
