Veracity's the personal assistant of her thirty times great grand uncle, the thousand year old astronaut. It's not such a bad gig, earning her the social and financial credits to live her life the way she wants.

But then someone decides it's not fair that Jasper should live so long and takes steps to find out why. They harass and kidnap Jasper and it falls on Veracity to find and rescue him. Nobody's listening to her though. Nobody thinks this actually means anything.

What is she going to do? How can she rescue Jasper? Convince the authorities that he needs help that she can't give?
