What if you were a grumpy lawyer who fell in love with your bubbly client, a criminal?

When Cass gets assigned to Jeffrey's case, he isn't happy. To Cass, everything is black or white. Criminals deserve to be in prison. Of course, as a lawyer, his views haven't helped him much in winning cases. And to Cass, Jeffrey is just another criminal who should be behind bars.

But when Jeffrey is placed under house arrest for the duration of the trial, things go awry when Jeffrey is forced to stay in jail because he lives in the shelter and has no place to go. Feeling bad for Jeffrey against his better judgment, Cass decides to suggest to the court that Jeffrey stay with him for the time being.

But the longer Cass and Jeffrey are around each other, the more Cass's heart starts melting for Jeffrey.

But Cass has to decide between protecting his reputation or dating Jeffrey, a criminal.
