A devoted young husband, father of two sons, and deeply religious, uncovers his wife's extramarital relationship with a close friend. After being arrested and undergoing a trial that resulted in a twenty-five year prison term for murder, the story jumps forward to twelve years later when he is finally released and makes his way back to his fractured family.
