The Lies We Tell Ourselves is a one-act play set in a hotel room in Miramichi, New Brunswick. Vern and Liza Anderson are a newlywed couple in St. Andrews who have come to Miramichi for their honeymoon, which just so happens to be Vern's hometown. His previous marriage ended with his ex-wife, Peggy Bell cheating on him... At least that's what he told Liza. In a wicked twist of fate, Vern reunites with Peggy at the hotel, where she is now employed. This unsettling reunion puts Vern's new mentality to the ultimate test. Can he be honest and upfront, or is it just another lie he's telling himself?
