A leading London criminal gang hires Russian hackers to make a cyber-attack on the Metropolitan Police's telecommunications systems preventing effective policing of the Capital city. This facilitates a huge surge in criminal activity damaging the Capital's financial and tourist industries with many public injuries and loss of life. The Government and security services are stymied. However, a group of retired senior military officers recruit Major Sam Brent to lead a group of special forces soldiers to eliminate the responsible criminals and quell the crime wave. Sam is severely injured in the operation and in a further twist his life is saved by a new medical treatment for his recently diagnosed aggressive lymphatic cancer. Eventually effective policing is restored and the hackers meet their demise.
