When Teeg Callahan rescues the beautiful Triese Cameron, neither expects the path that action will lead them on. Unable to answer why she was found where she was, Triese turns to Teeg and his police officer brother, Toby, for help in solving that mystery.

Events continue to evolve around the two, including damage to Triese's vehicle, disappearances, and bombs set off at Teeg's cabin. Not to say the reappearance of Triese's brother, Tait, who had disappeared two years previously without any trace of where he had been held.

Continuing to work on their mystery, Teeg and Triese find that they are falling in love. Teeg's dog, Andy, helps to draw them closer to one another.

The reason for their adventure is totally unexpected to them and leads to the apprehension of a man well known in town. Through it all, the couple find that their trust in God grows as He is their shield.
