Fannie Trippe is every society mother's worst nightmare—and her own mother's biggest headache. She smokes cigars, plays poker, and has opinions. Lots of them. Especially about what proper ladies shouldn't do... like win big at a saloon table by crushing the local mine owner's ego (and his three of a kind) with a perfectly smug full house.

Walter Hersey, widowed father of chaotic twins and owner of said bruised ego, is stunned. Not just by Fannie's gambling skills, but by her refusal to bat an eye at his charm—or his wealth. Obviously, he must have her. For the sake of the children, of course.
