This study looks closely at how libraries develop and use their video and audio collections. The study presents detailed data on the price discounts that libraries have negotiated from vendors, at trends in the use of licensed materials and streamed video, at spending on upgrades to new formats and on preservation, at budgets and staff size of AV departments, and at issues concerning cataloging, the use of video sites such as YouTube, in-library video production and much more. Data is broken out for public, academic and special libraries and by library size.
