Set in San Francisco Bay circa 2020, during an unseasonal epic downpour, Nina and Mani, Dolores, a grieving missionary's wife who recently lost a child, struggles to save her marriage. In contrast, her missionary husband feels compelled by heavenly forces to save the soul of a prostitute. Two women join her among other travelers on Angel Island who support Dolores and attempt to keep a lid on the deadly emotions stirred up by the clash between the missionary and the prostitute.
