From the outside looking in, I live a charmed life as a hockey star, but the reality is that I'm lonely. Struggling with learning the English language makes it hard for me to fit in, and to make matters worse, my girlfriend back home got tired of our long-distance relationship—and dumped me.

Then there's Charli. When a mutual friend introduces me to the shy, sweet Kindergarten teacher, I immediately recognize another lonely soul, but there's more to it—a connection I've never felt before.

I convince her to take a chance on me by tutoring me in English, but deep down, I really want her to take a chance on love.
