If My Shoes Could Talk is a compilation of both intimate and humorous stories as told by the collective persona of girls everywhere.

The second story in the series, Pharmacy Clerk, recounts a feverish fantasy as played out by the narrator and a guy she hasn't met yet. After spying on a couple literally getting down and dirty in the alley behind her apartment, she uncovers her affinity for exhibitionism. Except, as she gets caught up in her own head, her performances are sometimes more awkward than enticing. Of course, why would that stop her?
