Cyrus, the first king of the Persian empire, issued a decree permitting the Jews, who were living in exile in Babylonia, to return to the land of Judah. Soon thereafter, many returned under the leadership of Zerubbabel.
Eventually Ezra returned to the land of Judah and became the spiritual leader of the Jews. Still later, Nehemiah came, and the wall of Jerusalem was rebuilt under his direction.
This e-book is a simple presentation of the contents of these two Biblical books. It is designed for children and for those who are not acquainted with the excellent material that is presented in these inspired works.
While this study is the result of a thorough examination of the Hebrew text, I did not clutter up the e-book with a lot of abstruse explanations. For a Christian explanation of textual difficulties, I recommend Bible Hub.
I might add that what I have said here applies to my previous studies of the minor prophets and the book of Ruth. They are not technical studies, but they present the fruits of thorough scholarship.
