When Cassie Dixon's mother dies in the brothel where she works and where they both live, the owner gives Cassie a choice—take her mother's place or get out.

Cassie leaves, and after meeting with a friend, she decides to become a mail-order bride to a Texas rancher, and a mother to his daughter, Lindy. However, when Cassie arrives in Texas, she's met with news that changes her plans, leaving her with only one option—find a way to go back home.
