FAQs

For students, Sora is always free, both inside and outside the classroom.

Schools only pay for the content they want to offer in Sora. Schools can purchase Sora content subscriptions and/or individual titles to create their Sora collection. In either case, we will add hundreds of complimentary titles to augment the school’s purchased collection.*

Subscription pricing varies based on the selected packages and full-time enrollment size. Subscriptions are currently available only in the US and Canada. Check out our cost-effective EbooksNow options for Australia, New Zealand and the UK

Millions of premium titles are available for individual purchase in our Marketplace, allowing schools to curate a collection that fits their budget. To get started with a customized collection, contact us to speak with a Sora representative.

*Minimum purchase necessary to access complimentary titles and available to schools in US and Canada only.

Students’ Sora accounts are typically managed by your school's tech services department. When you sign up for Sora, we'll connect with your IT team to configure your accounts and ensure a smooth onboarding process.

Once your Sora library is live, students can access it by entering your unique school setup code during sign-in and/or by logging in using your school's preferred single sign-on (SSO) or OAuth methods (such as Google, ClassLink, etc.)

If a student is having trouble accessing Sora, we recommend reaching out to your school librarian or a member of your tech services team.

Students can access Sora on a computer at soraapp.com and on tablets or mobile devices by downloading the app from:

Download on the Apple App Store

Get it on Google Play

Students can also download titles for offline access.

The Sora reading platform and the digital books offered are not available for individual homeschools or personal purchase, as Sora is exclusively available to public and private K-12 institutions.

For homeschools, we recommend using our sister app, Libby, the library reading app

Colleges and universities can also use Libby to create a customized digital collection for their students and staff.
