Gennaro Angiulo was a top figure in the New England Mafia run by Raymond Patriarca. Jerry had three brothers who were involved with him in a portion of the crimes he committed. The Angiulos, including Jerry's son Jason, were prominent in gambling and loan sharking. Raymond Patriarca ran his organization out of Providence. The Angiulos were a fulcrum of the mob's Massachusetts operations. As early as 1963 Patriarca and Jerry Angiulo had stashed money at the Berkshire Downs horse racing facility near Springfield, MA. The details of this came to light during Congressional testimony given by Frank Sinatra in 1970.
