Eva, a young runner who has just won a race, gives her medal to her older sister Maria, who has a disability. Eva's rival lashes out at Maria and says that Maria will never win any medals of her own. When the girls' mother suggests that Maria compete in a Special Olympics run, both girls think it is a great idea. Eva helps Maria train, and Maria ends up winning first place and getting her own medal.
