David Bryant is a world renowned fertility expert with a thriving practice and a waiting list for appointments. He's the best, and will tell anyone who asks just that. His arrogance is used to mask a trauma that haunts him. It's his secret to bear and his horror to live. The scars are deep and he fears, permanent. His shame and embarrassment are suffocating, but he won't talk about it. He can't. He's simply 'broken'.

His medical practice gave him all the joy he needed.

He didn't care about anything else. He would never allow anyone to hurt him again.

Besides, he had a secret he could never tell.

Lila wanted to be a mother. She thought it was a silly idea because she wasn't someone who people looked at as mother material.

She was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and her body wasn't handling the finding particularly well. Her dreams of a family were quickly fading and although she knew that, something made her take the appointment with the specialist who just might be able to help her.

The appointment didn't go as planned.

David wasn't who she envisioned.

Her life was about to take a dramatic turn and Lila found that through David, everything looked different.

He looked at her in a way no man ever had.

She made him feel things he thought he would never feel.

David knew that when she found out about his secret, she would run.

She could never find out.

He was broken.
