In fact, Wang Mang is a reformer who loves "revolution", having a good wish that establish a good society according to theory of Confucian, but he fails, and failure means he is treacherous traitor. Wang Mang becomes an emperor who has few days of glory from a lonely and poor Confucian scholar, and as emperor of "new" dynasty, he wants to realize ideal great plan that govern country with Confucianism, but he suffers from disastrous defeat and dies in fierce storm of fate. He does not promote a new era, but he becomes farce character universally condemned. This book tries to present course of Wang Mang from serious drama to comedy and to tragedy from another perspective, understanding enlightenment left by him for later generations. )
