The poet's impression of Bay Bridge in San Francisco, California Lord, I neither see a peacock nor even a peacock feather. I neither see a flute nor hear any music. I neither hear any praises of you nor see you. I see only the vast bay and the ferries crossing to and fro. I see the Bay Bridge and the sparkling light in the night. I see the mesmerizing sky painted orange and purple during dawn and dusk. I see the luminaries, the stars and the moon, decorating the vast space. I feel the immense peace of the universe sweeping through me. Isn't that you, my Lord? I feel not the rush of the people nor the noise of the world, pulling me back into the world they call real; for me, the real world is within me, with the peace and stillness of my mind. Please, Lord, let me carry this peace and silence anywhere and everywhere I go. I don't know what meditation is, but my mind is quiet and peaceful and that is sufficient for me.
