A French built Caravelle III jet leased to Middle East Airlines of Beirut, Lebanon crashed on the edge of the Persian Gulf during a violent sandstorm on April 17, 1964. No survivors among a large group of Arabian American Oil Company personnel and their families were found. The wreckage of Flight ME 444 was found the following day during a massive search that was inhibited by hurricane like winds and rain. The pilot overshot the runway at Dharan Airport in Saudi Arabia. My e-book describes the tragedy and provides details about the persons killed in this tragedy.
