Something the old man says sparks Baldi's interest, and as he finds out more about the Parletti family, he realises that the police have arrested the wrong person... Keepers of the Flame sees the accidental sleuth caught up in solving the murder of a leading academic. Professor Allen had been due to give a lecture on Jack Matthews, one of Ireland's most cherished literary figures, but when the body is found, the text of the lecture is missing.
