A young man named Robert enjoys using the world wide web. Like many of his generation, he grew up knowing the internet. Most of his friends are people he has never seen face-to-face. His closest friend is a girl whose true name he does not know. He values his time with his online companions, and would not know what to do if his ties to them were to be suddenly cut off.
