World War II and Rag and Bones are in the thick of it, hiding underground in the London sewers, while bombs rain down above them.

Bones doesn't want to hide anymore. He wants to help. Not your typical vampire behaviour, but then, he's not a typical vampire.

He knows it's a risk to show his face above ground and not just because of the bombing, but because he looks like a young, fit man who should be on the front line.

And sometimes, you have to stand up for what you believe in, even if it puts you at odds with your best friend, because without human blood, surviving as a vampire is a short-term prospect.
