Investigator Elise Lapier is in trouble. The man she has been investigating has turned the tables and is stalking her. Running away from the man chasing her, she flees to her supervisor's cottage in Gull Cove, a secluded cove on the rugged Washington coast, where she meets Adam Wayne. The reclusive caretaker of the cottages is obsessed with avenging the death of his fiancé. With Elise's arrival, he believes he will finally have his chance for revenge. He is convinced that Elise came to him for help and he will help her, but only if she tells him the identity of the man who killed his fiance. The only problem, Elise doesn't know who the man is.
