When life falls apart, you get creative.

New York was supposed to be my fresh start—a dream job, a swanky apartment, and two best friends to share it all with. Instead? One roommate got arrested, my job disappeared, and I've been fake-commuting to a job I don't have just to keep Jack, my best friend and human lie detector, from finding out I'm a total disaster.

But bills don't wait for paychecks, and desperation makes you do wild things—like signing up for an explicit adult website and baring it all for strangers online. Just me, a camera, and enough cash rolling in to survive another month. No one was supposed to know.

Except Jack found out.

I braced for a lecture—or worse, for him to leave. But then he did something I never saw coming. He joined me. For the money, of course. Strictly professional.

Now we're filming together, making scenes that are supposed to be an act... except it doesn't feel like one. Not when he looks at me like that. Not when I can't stop imagining what might happen if we turned off the camera and let it all be real.

This wasn't part of the plan. Falling for your best friend never is. But maybe, just maybe, we're writing a script better than anything we could've faked.
