Leah Edwards is on her way to deliver her nephew, who she all but raised, to his father when the father suddently takes a job in Alaska. Then the wrong turn on a road leads her to Rigsby, Wyoming where she takes a job at the only cafe in fifty or more square miles. The cafe is where everyone meets to talk and hear the latest news. He does become acquainted with her nephew and by that to Leah, though she remains standoffish.
