Ladies of Liberty
By Cokie Roberts
In Ladies of Liberty Roberts sheds light on remarkable women, she examines a set of figures and what these amazing women did to ensure the preservation of the nation and its eventual rise to greatness.
Ladies of Liberty will cover the period from 1776 to 1824, which marked the end of the founding era. There is a host of enigmatic women including a profile of first lady Abigail Adams whose tenure in the white house makes Hillary Clinton's look timid. It will also cover Dolley Madison's bravery and triumph in DC during war and peace. Peppered with entertaining early DC gossip this second installment captures the great shift that occurred in American history as the country continued to move West and South with the Louisiana Purchase and the birth of the multi-cultural nation. These women bravely faced the challenges of the time but saw a great need to become reformers and advocates for education, orphanages and abolition. Roberts captures the American spirit while shedding new insights on the women who have helped make the country what it is today.

Harry, a History
By Melissa Anelli
During the brief span of just one decade, hundreds of millions of perfectly ordinary people made history: they became the only ones who would remember what it was like when the Harry Potter saga was still unfinished. What it was like to seek out friends, families, online forums, fan fiction, and podcasts to get a fix between novels. When the death of a character was a hotter bet than the World Series. When the unfolding story of a boy wizard changed the way books are read for all time.
The Harry Potter books are a triumph of the imagination that did far more than break sales records for all time. They restored the world's sense of wonder and took on a magical life of their own. Now the series has ended, but the story is not over. With remembrances from J. K. Rowling's editors, agents, publicists, fans, and Rowling herself, Melissa Anelli takes us on a personal journey through every aspect of the Harry Potter phenomenon---from his very first spell to his lasting impact on the way we live and dream.

Book of a Thousand Days
By Shannon Hale
When Lady Saren defies her father's command to marry the vicious Lord Khasar, she is sealed in a tower with only her serving maid, Dashti, for company. In their cramped, dark space, Dashti pours her thoughts into a daily journal while pitiless solitude engulfs them. At first Dashti is optimistic. They have food aplenty, candles for light, and even a visit from Lady Saren's true love, Khan Tegus-though he can only call to them from outside their walls. But Saren is ill of mind, the outside world is changing, and their circumstances soon grow desperate. And even if they do escape, they must still face the eerie malice of Lord Khasar. To survive, Dashti and Saren forge a bond of devotion and deception that will test them to their limits. Once again Shannon Hale weaves an original fantasy that will catch and hold listeners breathless in its enchanting spell.

New York
New York, New York is capital city of the American Dream, with its population drawn from each corner of the world. The Empire State Building is a symbol of the glamour and fascination of this frenetic city, yet the Chrysler building is just as imposing, its unusual tower being decorated with car motifs such as bonnets, hub caps and car wheels of the 1930's. Wall Street derived its name from a wall which had been erected to protect the emerging town from attack by Native American Indians and now most of the city is an open powerhouse of ceaseless activity with a constant mêlée of car horns, sirens, and screeching tyres. Greenwich Village is one of the few areas of the city that has no clearly-defined symmetry. Attractive steps grace many of its 19th century houses of red brick and brown sandstone and, until the 1960's, many important artists and authors lived there, such as Edgar Allen Poe and Henry James.

Get to Know: Full Cast Audio |
Full Cast Audio (FCA) has a simple mandate: to produce unabridged recordings of fine children's novels using a full cast rather than a single reader. Whenever possible, they invite the author to serve as narrator. Their recordings are always unabridged-the only things deleted from the text are those attributives ("he said", "she growled", etc.) made unnecessary by having a full complement of actors.
Bruce Coville, founder of the company, did pioneering work in this form during the five years that he partnered with Listening Library to produce and direct recordings for Bruce Coville's Words Take Wing Fantasy Audio. Among the authors whose work appeared under the WTW logo were Lloyd Alexander, Patricia C. Wrede, Elizabeth Winthrop, Natalie Babbitt, Brian Jacques, and Philip Pullman.
Subsequent to Listening Library's sale to Random House and an amicable parting of the ways, Bruce decided to start his own company to continue recording in the full cast format. Thus was FCA born.
